The Cameroon Investment Forum (CIF) is a bi-annual get together of business stake holders organized by The Investment Promotion Agency (IPA). IPA is in charge of attracting and promoting direct foreign investments in the country and it has outlined its plan of action for 2017/2018 to include a series of international conferences to portray Cameroon as an attractive investment destination.
It is in this context that IPA is organizing the second edition of the Cameroon Investment Forum (CIF).This forum is organized in partnership with the Ministry of Mines, Industry and Technological Development (MINMIDT) and the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Development (MINEPAT). The Cameroon Investment Forum has as ultimate goal to increase the agency’s contribution to economic growth, hence to impact on the country’s economic development.
IPA’s overall objective in organizing the second edition of the Cameroon Investment Forum is mainly to:
– Provide participants with a framework for discussions on business opportunities, consultation and business relationship bringing together industrial promoters and investors around a catalog of projects and themes carefully selected and prepared in advance;
– Provide opportunities for project promoters and technical and financial partners to establish joint ventures, partnerships or funding arrangements for projects of common interest in the priority sectors;
– Promote products, services, innovations, expertise, technology and projects.
This second edition of the CIF will be held on Thursday 09th and Friday 10th of November 2017 at the Party Hall in Bonanjo – Douala.
This laudable economic get together will definitely be an opportunity to take stock of the business contacts made during the first edition which saw the attendance of 200 companies worldwide. During this edition, where approximately 300 companies are expected to attend, the IPA’s Managing Director is assuring when she states: “we will emphasize the new framework to promote private investment in Cameroon, which exempts companies from taxes and custom duties for 15 years, including 10 years during their installation phase and 5 years during their production phase”. This conference will bring together business people from all over the globe to brainstorm on doing business in Cameroon. The Managing Director Madame Marthe Angéline Mindja stated that the new law on incentives in Cameroon of 2013 has seen close to two trillion investments projected and 150 companies that have express readiness to invest in Cameroon.
